About Peter Tosh: Peter Tosh exploded onto the stage as part of the legendary reggae group, The Wailers (Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer). An activist and forerunner in the movement to legalize cannabis, he went solo in 1974 and went on to release his first solo album, “Legalize It,” in 1976. Tosh worked tirelessly to promote the legalization of marijuana, equal rights, and to expand Jamaica’s cultural and musical influence. Peter was no stranger to oppression in his homeland and knew the fight for legalization and equal rights well. His music served as a catalyst for a generation to fight for what they believed in and never give up. His legacy lives on with his children, the formation of his Estate and most recently The Peter Tosh Music Festival, Presented by the Peter Tosh Museum, in New Kingston, Jamaica.

About the Peter Tosh Museum: The Peter Tosh Museum opened November 1, 2016 at the Pulse Center in New Kingston, Jamaica. The Museum features stories, multimedia installations, and memorabilia and items owned by Peter Tosh. The institution was established to recognize Peter’s singular contributions to the development of reggae music worldwide and his achievements as an activist.
